By Mail:

1) Procedure for customers having other accounts with SBI Canada Bank.

The customer will download the necessary document containing instructions for opening another account with our Bank and send it duly completed and signed to the desired branch along with a personal cheque for the amount of initial deposit drawn on our bank or another Canadian financial institution.

2) New customers not physically present at our Branches:

You will have one of the following options to confirm your identity:

Option 1:

The application form, terms & condition agreement (Please click here for all forms) containing your name, address and date of birth and a separate confirmation from any of the branches of State Bank of India (our Parent Bank) or its affiliates in India or outside India of having identified yourself by referring to an acceptable identification document.

Option2:

The application form and the terms & conditions agreement ( Please click here for all forms) containing your name, address and date of birth with a separate document from each of the following two parts.

PART 1 (Choose one document from this part):

a) Any independent identification product issued by our Bank such as Credit Card etc. (Please give all identification details).

b) Attestation from Commissioner of Oaths in respect of an Identification Document.

c) A cheque drawn on another financial entity in Canada and cleared by us.

PART 2 (Choose one document from this part):

a) Your permission to verify your identification with any credit rating agency in Canada.

b) Attestation from Commissioner of Oaths in respect of an Identification Document.

c) A confirmation from another financial institution that you maintain a deposit account with them and giving your full name, address and date of birth.

Note: For your convenience, your permission to verify your identity has been already incorporated in the application form itself and therefore, no separate permission is required from you.

Therefore, you need to send us only your personal cheque (containing your name & address) drawn on another financial institution along with duly completed Application Form and the Agreement.
